Early Cricket (Pre 1799)
There is a big consensus of professional opinion that Cricket may have been invented in the Saxon and Norman period by children living in the Weald, a region of dense forests and clearings in south-east England. The 1st reference to Cricket being played as an adult sport was in 1611, and that same year the dictionary determined Cricket as a boys ‘ game. There is also the idea that Cricket might have come from bowls through the interference of a batsman, always trying to stop the ball from meeting its target by throwing it back.
The middle of the 17th century established village cricket, and the first English “county teams” were founded as “local experts” in the second half of the century. Cricket from the village was employed as the early professionals. The first recorded match in which teams use county names was in 1709.
Cricket became the dominant game in London and the south-eastern regions of England in the first quarter of the 18th century. Travel restrictions limited its eradication, but it slowly gained popularity in other parts of England, and Women’s Cricket dates back to 1745 when the first known match was played in Surrey.
In 1744, the first Cricket Laws were written and later revised in 1774, when inventions such as lbw, 3rd stump,-the middle stump and the full bat length were introduced. The codes were drawn up by Star and Garter Society, whose founders subsequently formed the famed Marylebone Cricket Club at Lord’s in 1787. MCC then became the custodian of the Laws and has made amendments since then to the present day.
Rolling the ball along the field was introduced sometime after 1760 when the bowlers started throwing the ball, and, in reaction to that invention, the straight bat replaced the old “hockey stick” design of the game. The Hambledon Club in the Hampshire was the focal point of the game for some thirty years until the creation of the MCC and the opening of the Lord’s Cricket Ground in 1787.
Cricket was introduced to North America through the British Colonies as early as the 17th century and reached in other parts of the globe in the 18th century. It was exported to the West Indies by the colonizers and to India by the British East India Maritime Company. It arrived in Australia just as soon as the colonization began in 1788, and the sport reached New Zealand (NZ) and South Africa in the early years of the 19th century.
The Three formats of Cricket
Cricket is special as a sport with three different game formats at the highest level. Test-Cricket, One-Day International Cricket, and Twenty-20 International Cricket are all three and how the three forms of work are explained right here.
There are three international cricket formats–Test matches, One-Day Internationals and Twenty20 Internationals. These matches shall be played following the rules and regulations approved by the International Cricket Council, which shall also provide for match officials.
Test cricket is the most valuable and traditional form of the game that has been played since 1877 and is now settled in a five-day format that consists of two innings each. It is considered to be a pinnacle because it tests teams over a more extended period. Organizations need to show strength, methodology, and disposition in varying conditions to do well in this framework.
The winner of the MRF Tyres ICC Test Match rankings (as of 1 April each year) will win a cash prize of $1 million, with the next three teams in the ranks each receiving cash prizes.
One-Day Internationals, also known as ODIs, is a pacier format that started in 1971 but became common in the 1980s. These are one-inning matches of 50 overs per side, in which teams with a combination of technique, speeds, and skill are expected to do well. The ICC flagship case, the ICC Cricket World Cup, is played in this style every four years.
Over the last 50 years, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has also arranged the Champions Trophy (CT) for the top eight ranked teams, the ICC Women’s World Cup every four years, and after every two years, the ICC under 19 Cricket World Cup.
Twenty20 Internationals are the newest, shortest, and quickest type in the match. This format of the T-20 overs per side has brought new audiences since its inception in 2005 and has also triggered new skill sets and innovations. The Twenty20 International match is usually played in three hours, and with big-hitting, skillful bowling and excellent fielding, it has been very famous with fans all over the world.
The ICC World Twenty20 is the first global T20 competition, which began in 2007 and has been held five more times since then, with the ICC Women’s World Twenty20 played alongside the men’s game since 2009.
However, the next edition, to be held in the Caribbean in 2018, will be a stand-alone event for the first time.
Now, there are 12 ICC members with the status of Test Match, which means that they also have the status of ODI and T20I, following the inclusion of Afghanistan and Ireland in June 2017. Starting in 2019, the ICC World Test Championship will begin, with the top nine teams competing over a two-year cycle. At the end of the period, the top two teams will compete in the final of the ICC World Test Championship.
Four additional countries have ODI status, which ensures that there are 16 ICC members with ODI status.
That aside, all 104 member nations have been granted T20I status – for women, it came into force on 1 July 2018, while for men, it has useful on 1 January 2019. These teams are ranked in the respective ICC Team Rankings in three different cricket formats.
Why do most people like Cricket?
We love Cricket because it’s the purest form of love. The joy of watching the team is going on, the challenges it creates, and absolute satisfaction. Often you miss the inexhaustible, and sometimes you manage to get away with a miracle. The play is a leveler like that. You have a 5-for in a few balls for a few days. The numbers read 111-0 in the next few days. That’s exactly how it is.
Another explanation of why I love Cricket so much is because Cricket is another life simulator. Like Cricket, it has been a set of rules, and the goal is to do well by making the most of the opportunities and being the best version of you.
Cricket teaches optimism
Your squad may have lost 11 games in a row, and everything seems too grim, but you still don’t give up. Things are going to change around if you keep working hard. The best of momentum and trust will take you to some very elite places. Cricket is very easy. Everyone has been told the rules beforehand, and now the challenge is to do the job better than the opposition. Not a lot of complications. It is unadulterated and religious.
We love Cricket because it’s challenging to get to the peak and remain there no matter how good you are. They say, “There’s loneliness at the top,” never made this statement makes more sense to me than watching cricketers do their job. You may be playing with ten other friends, but in fact, nobody can come to save you. The information must stay yours. Unlike many other games, there is no hiding place. E.g., in Soccer, you may not have scored any goals or given assists, and you still have a great game, not in Cricket. Cricket’s a bloody hard man. This drives us to areas where we didn’t even know existed.
Ultimately, we love Cricket because it’s a journey of self-discovery. You don’t know yourself unless you learn to appreciate Cricket. The taste of losing, the joy of victory, the heartbreaks, the sacrifice of the last match, the control of a draw, the tie of events, the battle and the struggle until you get out. Ha! Ah! Ah! Life is straightforward, but Cricket is hard.

Physical Health and Ability
Most cricket players consider the game to be outstanding for improving their muscle strength and overall fitness. Let’s have a look at why this is the main cause.
Fitness: endurance and agility
We all know there’s a long cricket match. Depending on the type of game played, cricketers may be on the field for six hours a day, five days, or more! As a consequence, you’ll note that many cricket players have outstanding stamina.

In addition to the benefits that this will bring to your posture, you will also find that this will improve your agility; you need to be agile and flexible to bowl, hit, and catch the ball.
Carrying out these actions regularly will improve the mobility of your joints and muscles. You will be more flexible, the more you can focus on stability and movement, as well as other facets of overall fitness, such as speed and strength.

As we have already discussed, Cricket involves extended periods of lower activity interspersed with high-intensity exercise. Each dimension of Cricket needs the player to be fast, powerful, and to bring maximum power behind the action. As it occurs, these things are entangled.

Remember, regardless of age, if you jump in at the deep end, you won’t see these physical benefits! It’s essential to build up to longer or more demanding games.
It’s a good thing; therefore, Cricket is so good for families or friends to practice in the park. If you do not adjust to the kind of cricket movements you need, the answer is to make a start, but to slow it down!
Cricket is going to benefit both your brain and the body. That’s because motion and endurance are not just about your physical ability. For every movement and every measure of endurance which you encounter, there is a related mental mechanism that holds your mind sharp.
One of the most apparent mental difficulties we have with Cricket is to pick and hit the ball precisely! We sometimes refer to acts like this as involving hand-eye coordination, but what does that mean? If you have strong hand-eye coordination, it indicates that you are good at controlling the speed and pace of your gestures.
Crickets often check their teamwork abilities between the different parts of the body and the legs. Of starters, it may be particularly challenging to execute the bowling action when you shift the opposite arm and leg. But once you master this action, it’s surprisingly useful!
The more you do these kinds of things, the better the brain works. The brain works more, the better it gets. More notably, a healthy mind allows more links and mechanisms to help you function well in other fields.
Cricket can be played with physical skill, but it’s won with strategy. The process of strategizing must develop a robust set of skills, particularly useful for activities related to teamwork.
You can take multiple elements into account at any one time to develop a strategy. For starters, the strengths/weaknesses of your squad, the diverse selection of tactics, and the changing complexities of a continuous game.
Before you know it, you’re going to be able to draw on a whole range of thinking tools.
In contrast to mental agility, you can improve your emotional strength. You will have greater confidence in making your own decisions when it comes to seeing things happen. This is a valuable life skill for many other uses.
The Long Runs
Crickets must balance this strategic mindset with the ability to approach each play as it comes calmly. It’s one of the essential things to juggle all those thoughts at once; finding it within yourself to put those thoughts aside is, well, another ball game!
As challenging as this may sound to a novice, this ability can be mastered with training. Good cricketers have the focus and the presence of the mind to maintain their performance throughout the match.
Cricket is a trendy sport in which everything comes together, and it’s lovely to see. When the time comes, all the mental and physical training will prove its worth.
